Services

Below are short descriptions of the services PDS are able to offer. These can either be standalone or as part of a larger project implementation or support contract.

PDS have a tried and tested methodology for the implementation of solutions, based on taking the customer’s business requirements and a consultant translating these into a network solution. Under the ownership of a Project Manager the solution will be built (either on site or at our offices in Swanley) before being installed and tested according to an agreed plan.

Site Surveys

PDS can carry out site surveys to audit the current state of customers’ networks, including noting the network’s topology as well as equipment locations (and taking details of software levels, configurations, etc), cabling, racking and power availability. From this we are able to state the current position of the network, note any risks and make recommendations as to possible improvements.

Wireless

PDS are able to carry out wireless site surveys to show signal strengths in different parts of buildings and so make recommendations as to where to place access points and ensure the correct number are installed.

Network diagnostics and troubleshooting

Often networks may not be working at their optimum throughput. By using traffic analysis tools PDS engineers are able to troubleshoot problems and propose solutions to these.

Consultancy

Consultancy can cover anything from a single day making recommendations on improving network performance through to detailed analysis and design of high end Unified Communications or Security solutions. PDS have some of the industry’s best staff with years of in depth experience in the design and implementation of network solutions; we will take your business requirements and turn them into working solutions.

At PDS we don’t believe in providing reams of unnecessary documentation; we provide you with the information you need and nothing more, ensuring greater cost effectiveness.

Installations

PDS have a long history of successful project installations based on our tried and tested methodology. Implementation may take place as part of a project, in conjunction with Project Management and Co-ordination and Consultancy, or may just be a small installation of a single piece of kit.

PDS engineers have the skills and accreditations, as well as the customer focus, to ensure that installations are carried out with minimum risk to your business as well as fulfilling your requirements and integrating with the rest of your network.

Project Management and Co-ordination

PDS are able to fully manage or co-ordinate the entire lifecyle of your project, from initial analysis through design and implementation to final signoff and support. Our staff have experience in delivering literally hundreds of implementations, working closely with the customer to ensure a successful delivery.

Support

PDS are able to offer a wide range of support services to suit your particular needs and budget, our basic level support includes full backups of individual hardware configuration backups and IOS revisions to enable us to replace hardware and reconfigure to the correct working configuration without the need to have your own technical team available to download configuration files. Support contracts can include full network diagrams to further assist with fault diagnostics and to aid your in house personnel when considering network alterations.

We cover a very large range of network manufacturer’s hardware. Why pay more for your network support, when we can provide you with a professional service at an impressive cost.

Managed services

Based in our Swanley office, PDS provide remote management to a broad range of customers providing them with peace of mind and enabling them to concentrate on their core business. This service is provided 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, enabling many faults to be fixed remotely without the need (and loss of time) of sending an engineer to site. You will have your own secure web portal to your network so you can monitor network equipment and links without the need for expensive and time consuming tools. The service is not just there to resolve simple faults. With today’s combined voice and data technologies, quite often complex faults are not easily pined to specific data or voice applications, the history logs of your network enable us to review activity trends which are required when resolving complex issues.

Hardware Supply

Due to our contacts with vendors such as Cisco and HP we are able to provide hardware only solutions to customers.

Ad hoc Moves, Adds and Changes

PDS engineers can carry out ad hoc changes when required by customers either on a one-off basis or as part of a support contract.

Onsite Support

If customers require on site support, either to cover holiday or to supplement existing staff, PDS are able to provide highly skilled engineers.
